GNAR phase 1!

Meet Curtis & Jim.  These guys bought the hammock company "Gnar" last year, and brought me on to help with branding images. They're very excited (as you can see) and so am I.

I'm proud to have Gnar on the roster as an ongoing client- and being a super vibrant, laid back sort of lifestyle company, they wanted two things conveyed in their images; adventure and FUN.

We kept things fairly simple for the first round of shooting- focusing on putting hammocks in cool places and seeing how many we could line up in one shot.

(Um. A lot, by the way. A flipping lot. Like, five).

We also wanted to inject a sense of humor into some shots, so I went with a concept that plucked a businessman out of his usual surroundings and put him smack dab in a Gnar hammock. Is he daydreaming on the job while he sits in his cubicle in real life? Or is he a workaholic that just can't leave the (obviously-super-modern) PC at home?

Maybe it's just weird. I dunno. But it was fun- and much, much thanks to Phil for agreeing to not only model for us, but bring his suit into the wilderness and support a Stone Age computer on his legs while sitting in a hammock.

Also thanks to Matt, who co-photographed with me on the shoot (we work hard to see how creepy we can make eachother look)

....aaaaand thanks to Curtis and Jim for setting up the shoot, and to Jordan, Ebony, Sarah, Crystal, Grace, Jessie, and everyone else for acting as both models and movers to make all this work.

Here's some more favorites from the set- lots more fun stuff for Gnar coming up soon!
